Wea€™ve just returned from a lovely few days at this villa in Casamaggiore, Tuscany, near Lake Trasimeno. The property is spacious, clean, and well suited to a family or two couples, with two bathrooms and big, comfy beds. The highlight is the pool a€” a perfect temperature and ideal for hot afternoons. Ita€™s just across a gravel drive from the villa, but not visible from the house, so younger children will need close supervision. There was some construction work on a second pool outside the bedrooms during our stay. It wasna€™t disruptive, but ita€™s worth checking if this will be shared in future. Inside, the villa stayed cool during the day with fans and air con, but these tended to switch off after a while, which meant it could be warm by morning. The kitchen has great fridge space but limited utensils (especially sharp knives), and the rooms are quite dark with harsh lighting. The villa is in a beautiful location but there are no restaurants within walking distance, so a hire car a€” and someone willing to drive a€” is essential unless youa€™re happy to cook and eat in. There are two good supermarkets (Lidl and Eurospin) within a 10-minute drive. A lovely bonus was the delivery of fresh veg from the owners who live next door. Anna only speaks Italian but was extremely kind and welcoming, and communication with the managers was prompt and helpful. Top tips: bring bug spray and citronella, and 4kg of charcoal for the BBQ.

What a gem we stumbled upon in Umbria! La Casa Del Sole is a beautifully maintained villa with a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway.

For our family, it was a special house with all the trimmings; clean, spacious, and nice rustic decorations.

The property was simple and clean and had good value for money. Air conditioning in the bedrooms is much appreciated as is the nice pool and the covered terrace for meals.

We truly enjoyed our stay! We also appreciated the excellent service that we received from the agency and we have already been looking villas again for next summer.
